SNIPES launches community project in Berlin and opens the 400th store in Europe

SNIPES, one of the leading sneaker & streetwear retailers in Europe and the US, has not only opened a new store in the Alte Post in Berlin but also integrates a high-quality community space with a professional dance and recording studio – the Studio44.

To celebrate the 400th store in Europe, the retailer is launching an unprecedented concept for German retail: social institutions and
associations, schools, music and dance schools as well as artists and local talents from Berlin-Neukölln will be able to use the Studio44 free of charge.

The Alte Post in Berlin-Neukölln is the center of the neighborhood. SNIPES fills the historic building with young sneakerheads, hip-hop tunes and an extraordinary interior, and shows how apparent contrasts can complement each other perfectly by combining the former post office with modern street culture. Within the store, local references to the neighborhood can be found everywhere – for example, the counter was inspired by a Berlin kiosk and the Berlin graffiti crew “1UP” has designed the escalator-driveway with unique artwork.

For the opening, SNIPES brought artists and producers from Berlin’s rap and hip-hop scene to the Alte Post.
