Physical Retail: The New Purpose

Following our guide for brands and retailers; ‘THE ROLE OF PHYSICAL RETAIL: How it’s changed post-coronavirus and the new opportunities it presents’ we have created a series of three deep-dive reports that focus on the contents of Chapter 2; ‘What is now needed’.

The third in the series of our deep dive reports ‘FOCUS: 03 The New Purpose’ explores in more depth what consumers want and what brands and retailers need from physical space, and the changes that need to take place to deliver this.

For many years the purpose of physical retail has been evolving, with the most recent focus on delivering experience. Post-pandemic the emphasis has shifted to speeding up digitalisation. Although this means different things to different brands and retailers, it is critical to recognize the role physical retail plays within this to help generate and support sales.
