New Supreme Store Opening

A large free-floating skate bowl occupies the inside of Supreme’s new flagship at Sunset Boulevard in LA, the former home of Tower Records’ West Coast store. The fashion brand’s footprint greets the visitors from the start with the visible hovering, wooden-clad architecture of the skate bowl, mirroring a growing insect nest with its smoothly polished inverted-pyramid shape.

Going up to see it, one wall is covered with a collage of portraits from different cultural phenomena, making up the brand’s desired vision and mood board that might resonate with the visitors. The Supreme Bowl tears its design cues from the pages of its counterparts in other chains of the fashion brand, and fans of the brand’s cultural touchstone may test it out while they shop.

The light-bathed store and the spacious interior, takes advantage of the expansive arena by placing the merchandise in the corners and hanging skateboards on the walls while making space for the sculpture in the heart of the space.

A smiling go-kart racer sits immobile at the center of the store, riding its blue and red kart with a single profanity written in bold, white letters A wall painting of a kaleidoscopic grim reaper at sunset entertains visitors while they shop in its costume of rainbow party streamers.
