Lucy Moore Joins De Montfort University Panel Discussion and Portfolio Clinic

Briggs Hillier Operations Manager and University Liaison, Lucy Moore, recently took part in a panel discussion and portfolio clinic organised by De Montfort University for its Interior Design students.

Hosted by Subject Lead Nicky Harding and Programme Leader Alex Stothard, the panel discussion explored a range of topics related to the design industry. Alongside fellow industry professionals, Lucy shared valuable insights into life at a design studio, offering advice on what employers look for and how students can maximise their chances of securing a role in the industry.

Following the panel discussion, Lucy met with students on a 1-2-1 basis during the portfolio clinic, reviewing their work and providing guidance on how to build a strong, professional portfolio. Drawing on her 20 years at Briggs Hillier and experience leading the studio’s recruitment, Lucy offered first-hand advice on what design studios seek in graduate portfolios and applicants.

Coinciding with the final day of the degree show, Lucy also had the opportunity to view the students’ design work before the evening came to a close.
