Briggs Hillier Marks the New Year with Immersive Gaming, Fine Dining and Panoramic Views

On Friday, the team got together at Orelle in Birmingham to toast the new year, but not before surviving an action-packed afternoon of immersive gaming at “the world’s most advanced virtual reality” experience centre, Sandbox VR Birmingham.

Divided into four teams of six, with nine different games to choose from, we all started our VR experience off with the popular, “Squid Game Virtuals”. Playing a series of mini-games, including the well-known, “Red Light, Green Light”, we caught, dodged, collected, crouched, and jumped our way through the rounds to avoid elimination!

A popular choice for the second game was “Rebel Moon: The Descent”, a far more physically demanding game requiring lighting fast reactions to fight enemy soldiers and spacecrafts in the tyrannical ‘Motherworld’. Between the ambushes and the spiders, this VR experience deserved all the screams it got.

Our dinner plans were much more civilized. Dining at modern-French restaurant, Orelle, we enjoyed a three-course meal with panoramic views of the city, reflected on 2024 and raised a glass to the new year! Here’s to 2025…
